Airport

The closest airport to Washington, DC is Regan National Airport (DCA) which also has access to the yellow metro line. It is about a 15 minute ride from Regan National Airport to the Capitol Skyline Hotel. You can also travel to Washington, DC through Dulles Airport which is about 50 minute car ride to Washington, DC depending on traffic.

The Metrorail system has five color-coded rail lines: Red, Orange, Blue, Yellow, and Green. The layout of the system makes it possible to travel between any two stations with no more than a single transfer. You can travel between Reagan National Airport (DCA) and preconference, main conference, and post conference locations using the metro. Service is available from 5:00 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, and 7:00 a.m. to midnight on Sundays. Metrorail fares range from $1.70 to $6.75 depending on how far you travel.

SmarTrip cards and paper farecards are sold at ticket vending machines on the Metro platform. SmarTrip cards cost $10 ($2 for the card itself and $8 in fare value) or paper farecards are available (there is a $1 surcharge if a paper farecard is used). All ticket vending machines take cash, and some machines accept major credit and debit cards.

Taxi

Cabs can either be hailed or arranged in advance. The minimum fare for a taxi ride is $3.25 it is $0.27 per 1/8 mile and a $1.00 for each additional passenger. For those traveling originating from Reagan National Airport, a surcharge of $2.50 will be added to your fare. Some cabs charge $0.50 per item to place luggage in the trunk so it is advisable to call around.

Capital Bikeshare is a local bike service provided by the District of Colombia which people can rent a bike and travel almost anywhere in Virginia/ D.C.
