Community Partnership Director, Goddard House Eldercare
Ginny Mazur, MA, LMHC, ATR is the Community Partnership Director at Goddard House eldercare where she has worked in Brookline and Jamaica Plain, MA, building arts and other partnerships with and on behalf of older adults and caregivers. Her philosophy is to engage all generations across sectors to encourage Pro-Aging communities.
She is statewide recipient of the Mass. ALFA leadership (2014) and community service awards, the LeadingAGE MA community service award and was appointed by Gov. Deval Patrick to his Statewide Advisory Council for Disabilites where she represented older adults and the hard-of-hearing, where she also received an award for her contributions in developing accessibility at arts venues. Ginny is a licensed mental health counselor, an expressive arts therapist by training and an adjunct faculty member/ student supervisor in the Graduate School at Lesley University. She is a leader on the education committee of the Brookline Community Aging Network. Ginny loves to write, photograph, hike outdoors and practice Vipassana mediation. Her current work interest is developing a nature program for older adults and people with neuro-cognitive disorders.
But more than anything, throughout her life she has loved working with and learning from older people. At age 5, when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she quipped without hesitation, “A grandma!”
